Upper Middle Speech Competition
In M2 we have all participated in our class speech competition. The topic was "Would the World be a better place without Machines?" The standard was really high with most of the class scoring between 12 and 19 with a total possible score of 20. The 4 catagories we were marked against were; persuasive arguments, use of voice, eye contact and use of cue cards, and the timeframe. Andre and Tara became our 2 representatives and in the final speech competition. Andre got 3rd equal. Mr Sutton marked the speech final and he gave the finalists some really great feedback about the speeches and some tips for the future.

Inquiry- "How Stuff Works"
We have a Student Teacher in our class for 4 weeks his name is Mr Hird. He is training to be a PE Teacher. These photographs with Mr Hird are very interesting because he is teaching and giving us some ideas about Machines which is part of our Inquiry Unit, and not PE. Well done Mr Hird! In some of the photos we are using an overhead gantry especially designed to lift motors out of a car. The other photos have Mr Hird showing us how a machine helps us to change a tyre on a car. This lesson has helped us understand and have some more ideas about pulley's levers and gears. It was fun especially when the gantry lifted some heavy weights and some of us on the pellets.
